Ward 4
Ward 4 is the largest of the six wards that make up the RM of Hanover and covers 90 square miles. See maps below. Also, understanding how your civic address works will be easier when you look at these maps, so here’s an example:
- You know you live on Road 25N and the number at end of your driveway is 33011.
- You also know that there are 1600 meters in one mile.
- Living on road 25N means that your road is 25 miles north of the Canada/US border.
- The first 2 digits of your address refer to road 33E. (Road 33E is 33 miles East of the principal merdian, which is just west of Wpg).
- The last 3 digits multiplied by 10 refer to the number of meters east of road 33E that your driveway is. So you know your driveway is 110 meters east of road 33E. (011 x 10 = 110)
- The fact that the 011 is an odd number means that you live on the north side of the road. If you had a neighbor directly across the road to the south, his number would be 33012.
- The last 3 digits multiplied by 10 refer to the number of meters north or east ofthe road indicated by the first 2 digits, depending on whether you live on an east/west road, or a north/south road.
