About Dylan
I am 36 years old, I’ve been married to Sheila for almost fifteen years! We have three kids, ages four, six and eight. We live in Pansy (6 miles south of Sarto) where I was born and raised, and is a great place to raise a family.
I’m a self employed farmer. I’ve been farming hay and grain and raising finisher hogs for fifteen years. In 1994 I took over the family farm in Pansy from my parents Leonard and Betty Barkman. I am fortunate to have a great relationship with my parents and I still have the privilege of working together with my Dad when I need an extra hand on a project around the farm. Over the past fifteen years I have served on various committees and boards both in my church and in the community. I believe that these experiences have taught me how to work with a team and I enjoy working toward solutions that benefit those around me.
Well, summer is upon us, despite our opinion of the weather, and this means that summer projects can begin! Believe it or not there is gravel going down in Ward 4! The challenge remains that there are over a hundred miles of road and a budget that allows for about thirteen miles of gravelling. There are some ditching projects that will happen this year as well, but only a handful out of a very long growing list.
I am enjoying my time on council and the chance to meet so many different people. I also look forward to some warm sunny days this summer and I hope that you have a chance to take some time to enjoy your summer as well!
